What to expect
After getting picked up from your Nairobi hotel, head to the Giraffe Centre to see the nonprofit organization’s namesake creatures in real life. Learn why they are endangered and what the center does to help. End your visit here by feeding the giraffes with the supervision of a trained staff member. Then, continue to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see orphaned baby elephants that were rescued and will be released. Your guide tells you how they are raised and reintroduced to the wilderness. Take a lunch break (own expense), then go to Nairobi National Park for a game drive in the middle of the city. Your guide shows you as many animals as possible, like rhinos and lions. A safari van with a pop-up roof makes for easier game viewing than other companies that travel in small cars. Tour concludes with drop-off at your Nairobi hotel.
